Sandeep Kumar, Secretary in the Agriculture Production Department and Mission Director of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP), stated that the successful implementation of HADP will be crucial in transforming Jammu and Kashmir’s agriculture and allied sectors into a sustainable and vibrant agri-economy worth Rs 1 lakh crore

Chairing a review meeting at the Directorate of Agriculture, Lal Mandi, Srinagar, Sandeep Kumar, Secretary of the Agriculture Production Department and Mission Director of the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP), emphasized the critical importance of output-based monitoring and real-time progress tracking to maximize the impact and efficiency of the initiative. The meeting reviewed the progress of 13 major HADP projects across Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the Directors of Agriculture Jammu and Kashmir, Directors of Horticulture Jammu and Kashmir, Directors of Animal Husbandry and Sheep Husbandry for both regions, representatives from SKUAST-Jammu and SKUAST-Kashmir, and Directors of Sericulture, CAD, Fisheries, and other allied sectors. Key officials and technical teams joined virtually to ensure comprehensive participation.

He underscored that an output-led project governance model, efficient coordination among departments, and strategic resolution of bottlenecks are essential to achieving HADP’s ambitious objectives.

Stressing the importance of strong last-mile delivery, Kumar called for enhanced data-driven monitoring systems and greater accountability in project implementation. He reiterated the government’s commitment to empowering farmers, boosting productivity, and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through the holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors under HADP.
